Hello from Rocky Mountain National Park! Another beautiful park with some incredible views to share with you.
This was Lake Granby that our campsite was on, just outside of the park.
Coming into the park from the west entrance is a huge meadow with the Colorado river running thru it and lovely wildflowers.
Getting a little higher up into the mountains.
The higher we went, the colder it got, check out the CAUTION sign and the switchbacks on this road!
Yes, that is snow in July!
A pretty sunset from the campsite that night.
Back out into the park again for more hiking and exploring. The famous sign stop at the Continental divide.
Crazy selfie pictures...otherwise there is usually just one of us in the picture!
Stopped for lunch at Tuxedo Park picnic area and took this great little hike down to the river.
More curvy roads with 15 mile an hour turns in the park; good thing we were in the truck!
Pretty much my normal view...Dave taking a picture! He is getting this great shot of Bear Lake.
Like a lot of the other popular parks, Rocky Mountain requires passes to get into the park every day (to those of you reading this to help you plan, buy your passes ahead of time! 😉) They also have shuttle buses if you don't want to drive in yourself but you'll wait in line for them.
Almost to the highest point (by road) I took a hike thru the area they call the Alpine Tundra. Not much can grow up here with the snow and bitter winds but check out this little guy who posed so nicely for his picture! He is a Pika. Wonder if that's where the Pokemon came from Emma?? 😁

All the clouds have sure made for some gorgeous sunsets.
The meadows were so pretty with the wildflowers and the wildlife too!
This fox was actually at our campground and didn't look too friendly. Apparently she just had pups and you know how those new mamas can be!
Also like many of the parks, forest fires had engulfed part of the west entrance. While it is devastating to see the burnt trees, it is nice to see the new growth and flowers blooming.
Our last night we did an evening picnic by the river. Thanks to Linsey for my new chilled wine glass. Cheers! We'll leave you with the pre-rain picture...on to Colorado Springs next!
