Hello again from the roads of Colorado! We took route 9 thru Silverthorne and Breckenridge and followed the train tracks along part of the way. While we love traveling by RV, seeing the country by train would also be very cool!
The campground here is not as nice as where we have been...basically a parking lot with hook ups! We're making the best of it though...yummy scallops and asparagus for dinner and a beautiful moon.
Given Colorado Springs is a bigger town we decided to get our slide out fixed here. It's been making an ugly noise and the bottom isn't going out as far as the top. UGH! We took it to a shop and they ordered parts...in the meantime we played tourist again.
We biked thru the Garden of the gods with it's red rock formations that seem to reach for the sky.
Check out the climbers above! We kept our feet on the ground...mostly!
The second part of our bike tour took us to the castle at Glen Eyrie. What an amazing place to call home. Situated in a box canyon it has 360 degrees of gorgeous views!
The view on the way back to the campground wasn't too bad either. The picture just doesn't do the sun streaks justice. Another place we visited was The Broadmoor hotel and the Golden Bee restaurant where upon arrival they throw a "bee" onto you. Apparently we wore the right outfits, it even matched!
The restaurant was decorated with a wood bar brought over from an old English pub in England. It was a great recommendation from our financial advisor, Shane.
The grounds of the hotel were absolutely impeccable and the landscaping and views were amazing!
It has now been almost 2 weeks we have waited for the part to come in. Lippert does not score highly for customer service except for Lisa L who finally acknowledged their mistake and overnighted us the parts at no cost. Dave has been so frustrated he's offered his head up to the dinosaur at the RV park!
So, here we sit at the repair shop since 8am (it's now 2:30pm) and the poor kitties have been in their travel bags this whole time. On the bright side, at least I'm caught up on the blog! 😄

Such amazing sights you have seen! Thanks for sharing such beautiful pictures. Have to admit I’m a bit jealous:) Hope the repairs are finally done and you can head on your way again. Safe travels!

I love all the views and I also would do my hiking on the ground:) Praying for less repairs on the next portion of your trip. Glad you are still enjoining all the nature. Love Brian and Josie
If you get a chance try to get to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The Chapel is gorgeous. We love seeing these photos. Brings back a lot of amazing memories. My office had two walls of glass facing Pikes Peak. Watch out for those Mountain Lions.
I love Martha’s total defiance of the law in the picture of her climbing on the rocks right by the sign that says no climbing on the rocks…..lol Brian
