We are so glad that we took the time to see the Grand Canyon...it really is way more than just a big hole in the ground Mom!
The colors of the canyon and how they change based on the way the light hits them was truly magnificent.
Even Pappy was amazed...Ok, she didn't see the canyon but it was too cute of a picture not to include it! ๐
Several people mentioned in the comments about the pictures and how do we decide which to put in...it's tough! We probably have 10 times as many pictures as we put in.
I try to put my favorites as the largest size but lately they all could be that size!

All of these pictures were taken as we hiked on the rim trail from the visitors center to the village area.

Along the trail are rocks from the layers of the canyon. This one is one of the oldest layers dating from 1840 million years ago!
This shows we completed the trail and another breakdown of all the layers...very cool!

We were rewarded for our efforts with an amazing sunset and more spectacular colors of the canyon!!!
It just kept getting better...
and better!
It was good to get back to Phoebe and warm up with hot cocoa and the last of the chocolate chip cookies Michelle made for us! As our luck would have it, a snow storm is coming in tomorrow so we are heading out but not before doing the Hermit's Rest trail in the morning!
The temps certainly dropped overnight and the winds were brutal but we wanted to get as much in as we could so we took the shuttle to many of the stops.
It was nice that the sun was out but you can see the clouds coming in with the cold air.
And we made it to Hermits Rest!! Built in 1914 the building has an amazing fireplace, which we couldn't figure out why they didn't have a fire burning in it!
Love that this sign still hangs there and it is truly a special place to praise His name!
We are off now to beat the snow from falling on us in the Grand Canyon. Next stop is the Petrified Forest National Park.

Hi friends, it’s been a couple of weeks since I commented. However, boy are we enjoying your beautiful pictures of all the landmarks, and of the two of you. Stay safe, take care of Phoebe, and be careful in the snow. Until the next pictures!
